International Cricket Council on Friday (November 25) re-appointed Imran Khawaja as its deputy chairman for another two years.

The apex board announced the development after the board meeting in Melbourne, which was a week-long process.

Khawaja, belonging to Singapore cricket did not face any opposition in his bid to be re-elected to this post. Last year, he got past the challenge of Cricket West Indies' Ricky Skerritt to become the deputy chairman. The entire process was completed online by the ICC.

"The process started after the Chairman election and it completed today. No one else wanted it. No opposition so no election," an ICC member told Cricbuzz.

Khawaja was elected to the ICC board in 2008 and has served as Deputy Chair since 2017. He currently holds an Associate Member Director position on the Board.

Recently, Greg Barclay was elected unopposed as the ICC Chairman as well. With the same top management, the ICC would look to continue their efforts in improving the game.

The only change this year was BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, who was appointed Finance and Commercial Affairs (F&CA) chairman position. Also, Sourav Ganguly will continue to be the Chairman of the ICC men's Cricket Committee.
