ICC announces first ever women's Future Tours Program

International Cricket Council for the first time ever, has released a 'Future Tours Program' for Women's cricket. The FTP contains the international cricket calendar, including ICC events and international bilateral series, until the end of April 2025. 

For what is being considered a watershed moment in Women's cricket history, fixtures have been confirmed for ICC 2022-25 Women's Championship. Remarkably, the ICC has included more Test matches, including a standalone Ashes series between Australia and England women in 2025. 

300 matches will be played over the period, consisting of 135 ODIs, 159 T20Is and 7 test matches. 


ICC General Manager Wasim Khan on the announcement 

“This is a huge moment for the women’s game,” Khan said. “This FTP not only lends certainty to future cricket tours but also sets the base for a structure that is sure to grow in the coming years.”


Major ICC events 

  • February 2023 - Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa
  • September / October 2024 - Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh
  • September / October 2025 - Women's Cricket World Cup in India
  • June 2026 - Women's T20 World Cup in England 
  • February 2027 - Women's T20 Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka 


Team wise distribution of matches

All teams will play 3-match bilateral ODIs (part of the ICC Women's Championship) ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 in India. 

Majority of the ODI series are followed by a T20I series. 

The T20I series' will be accounted for the ICC team rankings.
