I do not think they will be under any pressure: Dasun Shanaka on Team India

Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka believes that Team India will not be under pressure in their must-win Super-4 game against the island nation despite suffering a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Pakistan on Sunday.

The Rohit Sharma-led unit came up short in a high-scoring, nail-biting nerve-jangler in their Super-4 opener against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday night.

As a result, the defending champions face sudden death on Tuesday when they take on a confident Sri Lankan unit in Dubai.

However, Shanaka still believes that an odd setback won't deter the confidence of the Men in Blue and that they will come out firing in their remaining fixtures.

Here's what Dasun Shanaka said at the pre-match press-conference:

"They (India) had a great game last night. They have been playing good cricket and will be prepared. I do not think they will be under any pressure,"

India's bowling has come under heavy scrutiny following their underwhelming performance against Hong Kong and Pakistan.

The absence of Jasprit Bumrah, and a reliable 3rd pacer has been felt while lead spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's poor run so far has complicated things further.

However, Shanaka had a different take on this.

"I do not think so (that they are inexperienced). They are a proper bowling attack. They have played a lot of IPL and have a lot of experience.”

Sunday night's defeat to Pakistan was India's first in the continental tournament since the 2014 edition. With their winning run coming to a halt, the Men in Blue will look to embark on another one when they take on an impressive Lankan side on Tuesday.
