Amidst a lot of controversies and obstacles, Pakistan is getting ready to host the Champions Trophy 2025. With BCCI objecting to playing in Pakistan and the dilemmas around the construction of the stadium, PCB has struck down many obstacles to host the tournament.

Notably, Pakistan lost the right to host international cricket after a terror attack on the Sri Lankan team bus during the 2009 tour. The nation waited for about 10 years before hosting international cricket once more.

For a neutral fan, it is heartening to see the Asian giants getting to host a world-level tournament after so long. However, concerns about security during the tournament have been an issue for ICC and the other participating boards. The governing body of international cricket has made multiple inspections before giving a green signal to the nation to host the tournament.

PCB Train Guards To Catch Fans During Champions Trophy 2025

It seems PCB itself is concerned about the security of the players during the tournament. A latest video has surfaced on social media, where it is seen that the PCB officials are training the guards in Gaddafi Stadium to catch pitch intruders during the tournament.

While the video has become meme material for the fans, it is a commendable effort by the board to keep themselves ready for all kinds of situations.

Notably, the Champions Trophy 2025 kicks off at the National Stadium Karachi with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand. The first match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is on 22nd February between the arch-rivals England and Australia.
