Gill likely to lead India A against New Zealand A

Reports have come in that Shubman Gill is likely to lead India A in the 'A' programme series against New Zealand A. 


Series details 

The series is set to take place in Bangalore with 3 four-day fixtures, starting from 1st September. Meanwhile the one-dayers are to be held in Chennai from 22nd September. 

The series was earlier stalled due to COVID-19. The NZ A, Captained by Tom Bruce will have 7 internationals. 


A look into the squad

Although the squad hasn't been officially been announced yet, reports suggest that the team will likely be packed with players who have been performing exceptionally in the domestic circuit. 

Mumbai's left arm spinner Shams Mulani is likely to feature in the series after a phenomenal season with the domestic team, taking six 5-wicket hauls in Ranji and scalping 29 wickets in 3 games in the CK Naydu Trophy. Mumbai's Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur and Sarfaraz Khan are likely to feature. 

Madhya Pradesh's Rajat Patidar, Shubham Sharma, Jalaj Saxena and Yash Dubey.

Vidharbha's Akshay Wadkar, Andhra's KS Bharat. Mohammad Siraj, Manishankar Murasingh, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed could feature in the four-day matches. 

Meanwhile Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Hanuma Vihari, and Venkatesh Iyer are likely to join the squad for the one-day games.
