Gloucestershire all-rounder George Scott is all set to leave the county at the end of the ongoing season, ending his 2-year association with the Bristol-based club.

The all-rounder, who previously featured for Middlesex, is the third player after Ryan Higgins and Benny Howell to confirm his departure from Gloucestershire at the end of the 2022/23 season.

In an official statement released on Friday, Scott expressed his gratitude towards the club for their unrelenting support over the years.

The 26-year-old further added that he is looking forward to the challenges that lie in front of him and is excited about future prospects.

Here's what George Scott said:

"I want to thank the club for the last few years," said Scott. "I've been lucky to get to know so many great people from the playing staff, to the backroom and office staff. I wish them all every success in the future.

"It is now time to take on some new challenges in my life, and I'm excited about the opportunities this will bring."

George Scott represented Gloucestershire in 32 games across all three formats

In those 32 games, the all-rounder scored 618 runs besides claiming 6 wickets.

He did not feature for Gloucestershire in the Royal London One-day Cup and was eventually transferred to Somerset on a short-term loan basis.

Back in 2021 edition of RLODC, Scott hammered 238 runs for Gloucestershire at an impressive average of 59.5 with 2 50+ scores.

Commenting on his departure, Gloucestershire's performance director said:

"George has been a pleasure to work with at Gloucestershire but unfortunately we can't provide him with the opportunities that we think would further his career. I'd like to thank George for his contribution to Gloucestershire Cricket and wish him all the best for the future."

Scott made 4 appearances in the ongoing County championship. His last game for the county came in the recent T20 Blast against Middlesex.
