Young Northamptonshire spinner Freddie Heldreich has extended his stay with the club. The 21-year-old bowler has signed a two-year contract with the Northants, which will see him represent them until at least the 2024 season.

Northamptonshire spin bowling coach Graeme White termed Heldreich a match-winner with the ball. Hailing his bowling exploits, White admitted to being excited to witness the wily spinner's growth with the club.

Here's what White said

"He's a strike bowler and that's why he excels in T20 cricket because he's so dangerous. It'll be great to see his progression."

Notably, Heldreich emerged as Northamptonshire's third most successful bowler in the Vitality Blast 2022, scalping 14 wickets in 12 games. Despite being slightly expensive, the left-arm wrist spinner impressed everyone with his incredible wicket-taking abilities. Striking regularly, he became the go-to man for his captain in the tournament. With age on his side, we expect Heldreich to mesmerise us with his guile and accuracy going forward.
