One of the most technically sound batters of his era, Pakistan's Aamer Sohail, has sought legal action against Najam Sethi-led Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) managing committee. Sohail in his formal notice to the chief election commissioner and the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), has asked authorities to intervene and exercise restraint over Sethi from conducting meetings within the PCB.

Sethi, who headed the interim managing committee of the PCB since 2022, called for an emergency meeting on Tuesday, despite his tenure coming to an end on June 19. As per Cricket Pakistan, Sohail in his legal notice stated that Sethi and the current management cannot carry on with their normal functions after the stint came to an end.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Sethi said he will not be contesting for the post of chairman of PCB, alongside former board president Zaka Ashraf, which could cause instability within the system.

Ashraf is a front-runner given his close relations with current Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif. Apart from Ashraf, Pakistan's Supreme Court lawyer, Mustafa Ramday is also in the forway.

Sethi's stint has been quite tumultuous, given PCB's insistence on playing Asia Cup 2023 with a 'Hybrid Model', and their stance on World Cup 2023 in India.
