CSK's worst nightmare came true as PBKS managed to cross the dangerous 180+ mark against the Men in Yellow. Notably, for the past six year, CSK have never chased a 180+ run target. Further, they were asked to chase 220 runs by Punjab Kings.

In reply, CSK got off to a perfect start as Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway stitched a 61-run stand for the first wicket. However, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad disappointed his fans again as the CSK skipper returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 (3). 

It was another failure by Gaikwad as he is having a terrible IPL season. Notably, the right-hand batter has scored just 142 runs in five matches so far. Now another interesting stat has come up that highlights Gaikwad's inefficiency when it comes to run-chases for the Men in Yellow.

It is worth noting that CSK have not chased 180+ total in the past six years. Meanwhile, Gaikwad made his IPL debut in 2020. Since his debut, the opponent have put 180+ target against the Men in Yellow 11 times and Ruturaj Gaikwad boasts just a solitary fifty in those 11 games.

Looking at Gaikwad's stats, then it would be fair to say that the CSK captain hasn't performed upto his fullest. The five-time winners expect their captain to lead from front and put big runs on the board.
