England suffered their second consecutive T20I series defeat this summer as they were comprehensively beaten by a rampant South Africa in the series decider in Southampton last night.
South Africa clinched the series following a thumping victory in the 3rd T20I
In the aftermath of England's harsh 90-run defeat, captain Jos Buttler admitted to failing miserably as a white-ball team this summer.
The swashbuckling keeper-batter opined that England failed to play positive cricket, which resulted in their disappointing defeats against India and South Africa.
Further, the Taunton-born asked his team to give up their timid game plan and be braver in their approach.
"We haven't played our best cricket by a long stretch and I don't think we have been able to impose ourselves. We lacked intent and confidence and didn't put the opposition under pressure. We never managed to fire shots and wrestle the initiative. I think that bit of timidness is probably the thing we are frustrated with most. We want to be a team that wants to be brave and take risks."
Notably, Buttler's recent dismal batting form has been another significant reason behind the Three Lions' poor white-ball run.

The 31-year-old confessed his failure in the series and vowed to bring out his best game going forward.
"The first place I would look is myself. I want to lead from the front as captain and I know I haven't performed at the level I would like to."
