England Test skipper Ben Stokes has heaped praise on the youngster Harry Brook for his dominating performances and ball-striking capabilities with the willow.
Brook earned a national call-up earlier this year due to his bright performances in domestic cricket. The right-handed batter will make his Test debut on Thursday (8 September) after being named as a replacement for injured Jonny Bairstow against South Africa.
Earlier this year, the 23-year-old mustered 967 runs in 12 innings of the County Championship at an average of 107.44 for Yorkshire. He followed it up by slamming 436 runs in the T20 Blast 2022 at 39.63.
On the eve of the third Test, Stokes thinks Brooks has stamped his authority and displayed his skills all-around this year in the domestic circuit.
“The way he operates, the way he wants to go out and dominate is very rare. He’s a huge talent and he has to go out there and show everybody what he can do.”
"He’s shown this summer when he’s been playing for Yorkshire and the Superchargers the skill he has."
