ENG vs NZ | 2nd Test | England announce 14-man squad for Nottingham Test

After three tumultuous days to kick off England's new era of Test cricket under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, the fourth morning at Lord's had a sense of calm about it. Joe Root’s sensational ton helped England to cross the winning line by 5-wickets.

With four days left for the second Test to commence, England have announced their 14-man squad to face New Zealand in Nottingham.

After suffering a concussion while fielding on the first morning of the first Test at Lord's, Leach was replaced by Matt Parkinson in the team. However, the wily spinner remains in contention to return for the second Test.

In line with the concussion protocol, Leach will rest for a minimum of seven days before gradually returning to activity. As a result, he should be able to take his spot in the side for the second Test, which begins on Friday, June 10.

Somerset's Craig Overton and Yorkshire's Harry Brook, who were excluded from the starting XI and were released from the group midway through the Test to play in the T20 Blast, are still in the squad.

Following a five-wicket triumph at Lord's, Ben Stokes' side take a 1-0 series lead to Nottingham, thanks to Joe Root's unbeaten 115.

England team: Ben Stokes, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Harry Brook, Ben Foakes, Jack Leach, Zak Crawley, Alex Lees, Craig Overton, Matt Parkinson, Matthew Potts, Ollie Pope, Joe Root
