ENG vs IND | Simarjeet Singh added to Indian team as net bowler

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Simarjeet Singh has been picked as a net bowler of the Indian side for the tour of England.

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) selectors have already sent Sai Kishore, Navdeep Saini, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as the other net bowlers for the England tour, and Simarjeet Singh has been added as a late addition to the team as a net bowler to help the batters prepare well for the upcoming tour of England, which will begin with the one-off Test at Edgbaston on July 1.

The 24-year-old Simarjeet made his IPL debut this season for CSK, taking four wickets in the six matches he played with a best of 2/27 and an economy of 7.67, making him one to look out for in the upcoming seasons.

The skiddy fast bowler has all the pedigree in him to make it big at the higher levels. He bowls at a decent pace and has a smooth action, and bowls with accurate line and lengths.

Simarjeet made his professional debut for Delhi against Saurashtra in a List A match in September 2018. He was also shortlisted for India Under 19 squad for Asia Cup in 2016.

India lead the five-match Test series 2-1, which remained incomplete due to Covid-19 concerns last year. The one-off Test will bring a conclusion to the series, and more importantly, World Test Championship points are up for grabs.
