ENG vs IND | India should send their B team: Graeme Swann's fun take on India's problem of plenty

Indian cricket is witnessing an overflow of talent thanks to a robust domestic structure and various state-organized T20 leagues, but most importantly, the Indian Premier League.

With the luxury of having so many players, India have managed to arrange for multiple sides to compete on the international stage.

Former England spinner Graeme Swann has a fun take on India's problem of plenty, keeping in mind the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

Speaking to official broadcasters, Swann said, "India should send their B team to Australia and probably win the World Cup. I think it's a great idea that you bring a load of players in. You got a winning team and completely change that in the 2nd game against England."

He further asked India to continue playing the same XI as they did on Thursday (in the first T20I against England).

"I would like you to do that, India, please. Because this XI will beat England in 2 days' time, even if you bring in world-class players like (Jasprit) Bumrah, (Virat) Kohli and (Rishabh) Pant, it upsets the balance that has played so well.

"Of course, they will come back into the team because of who they are. But if you are the England team, I would be looking for any way to upset the rhythm."

The former English off-spinner was a member of England's T20 World Cup-winning squad in 2010, where the Paul Collingwood-led side beat Australia in the final.

Virat Kohli comes in, he opens the batting: Swann

Swann also suggested that if Virat Kohli comes in for the second T20I, he should open the batting in place of Ishan Kishan, who has not been in the best form lately.

"Virat Kohli comes in; he opens the batting instead of Kishan. That is what I would do. When you have got a player as good as Virat, you don't want him to bat at No. 3 in the middle overs because he is not scoring as quickly as SKY or Hooda when they first come in because that's not his game.

"When Rohit is batting so well at the other end, scoring quickly, Virat will follow and do the same thing. Kohli and Sharma score heavily at the top; Hooda and SKY (Suryakumar) can follow suit," the Ashes-winning player explained.

The first T20I was won rather easily by India at the Rose Bowl by 50 runs, which meant England trailed the three-match series 0-1.

Edgbaston will play host to the second T20I game on Saturday, July 9.
