ENG vs IND | 3rd T20I | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

The final T20I game of the three-match series between England and India will take place at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Sunday, July 10.

India kept their imperious record in T20Is over England intact as the Men in Blue swatted aside their hosts by 49 runs at Edgbaston on Saturday night to clinch their 4th consecutive series win over the 'Three Lions'.

Once again, it was India"s performance with both bat and ball in the powerplay that proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Unlike Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who once again put on a clinic of swing bowling, and the ever relentless Jasprit Bumrah (2/10 in 3 overs), the English seamers could not control the flow of runs during the powerplay, let alone take wickets.

Rohit had a new opening partner on Saturday in the form of Rishabh Pant and together, the duo took the English bowling to the cleaners, smashing 49 in 4.4 overs.

The Indians did stutter during the middle-overs thanks to debutant Richard Gleeson, who dismissed Rohit (31 off 20), Virat Kohli (1 off 3) and Pant (26 off 15) to reduce the tourists to 3-61 in the 7th.

Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik did not last long either but Ravindra Jadeja once again  came to his sides' rescue, scoring an unbeaten 29-ball 46 to take India to 170. Harshal too Patel showcased his batting skills with a stroke filled 6-ball 13.

Then, Kumar (3/15 in 3) and Bumrah proceeded to launch a swing and seam-bowling assault on the English batters to effectively seal the game in the powerplay itself.

India's catching was much better on the night as opposed to the previous one in Southampton but it still remains a work in progress.

As for England, apart from Gleeson's debut and Jordan's improved death bowling, there aren't many positives for the hosts to take from this game as far as their bowling is concerned.

The gap between the bowling departments of both sides has proved to be the difference so far and the hosts must bridge that on Sunday if they want to avert a 0-3 whitewash.

Former Indian Cricketer Unhappy With Team India's Decision Of Leaving Out Deepak Hooda For 2nd T20I

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has expressed his disappointment at Team India's decision to drop Deepak Hooda in the second T20I against England at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 9). The Rohit Sharma-led side made a total of four changes in the playing XI for the second T20I, leaving out Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh, while Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and star pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to the team after missing out the series opener. While it was confirmed that Kohli would return to the side in the second T20I, not many could have expected that it would be Deepak Hooda making way for the former skipper in the team. The star all-rounder has been in terrific form lately and has grabbed the opportunity, in whatever way it has been offered, with both hands. In the two-match T20I series against Ireland, Hooda slammed a gorgeous 47 in the first T20, followed by an impressive century in the 2nd T20, which was his first in international cricket. The Baroda-cricketer continued his red-hot form in England as he played a sensational knock of 17-ball 33 in the first T20I and gave the much-needed boost to the ‘Men in Blue’. Following back-to-back heroics with the bat of late, it was pretty perplexing to see Hooda being left out of the team. The former Indian all-rounder took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction with India's decision to leave out Hooda and said that the all-rounder was very unfortunate to miss out despite being in red-hot form. "Very unfortunate for Deepak Hooda to miss out in this red hot form," read Pathan's post on Twitter. https://twitter.com/IrfanPathan/status/1545765219225391105?t=ZX3xD7cjLxAiEqC3NpSS2w&s=19 As long as the match is concerned, Team India, after putting in to bat first, got off to a flying start, with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant registering a 49-run stand for the first wicket. The duo went bonkers with the bat but failed to convert it to big individual scores. While Sharma whacked 31 runs off 20 deliveries braided with three boundaries and two sixes, wicketkeeper-batter Pant slammed a 15-ball 26. Thanks to late flourishes from Jadeja, who smacked 29-ball 46 and remained not out, India posted a decent total of 170/8 off 20 overs. India’s target turned out to be sufficient as England were bundled out for a paltry total of

ENG vs IND | 2nd T20I | Jadeja, Bhuvi guide India to successive T20I series victory in England

A rampant Indian team displayed yet another clinical performance to win the second T20I against England on July 9 at Edgbaston. With this victory, they took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match T20I series. Ahead of the start of the game, the 'Men in Blue' included Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah in the line-up. On the other hand, England handed the debut cap to Richard Gleeson and recalled David Willey. The Jos Buttler-led side won the toss and opted to chase down the score. Surprisingly, Pant came out to partner with Rohit Sharma in the opening slot for India. Despite receiving a reprieve in the first over by Jason Roy, Sharma hit a six in the last ball off David Willey and made his intentions clear. Pant followed the skipper's suit to opt for an aggressive approach and hit a couple of boundaries off Willey's second over. Then Moeen Ali, who dismissed the Indian skipper in the first fixture, was introduced in the fourth over. However, the 35-year-old was terrific with his bat flow and created room to hit four off the covers and then followed it up with a boundary towards the deep mid-wicket. Debutant Richard Gleeson faced the wrath of the Indian skipper with a confident boundary in the second ball of his first over. In the penultimate delivery of the over, the 34-year-old debutant fired a quick bouncer, which got big on Sharma (31), and Buttler caught the top edge. Gleeson caught an edge of Kohli (1) and Pant (26) in the first two deliveries of his second over and left India stunned at 61/3. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav tried to resurrect the innings, but both were dismissed by Chris Jordan in the 11th over. Soon, Dinesh Karthik (12) succumbed to a run-out dismissal while trying to take a risky signal. Afterwards, it was Jadeja's quickfire contribution of 46* off 29, which helped India to post a competitive total of 170 runs. However, the highlight of the all-rounder's innings was his flick for a six towards the backward square leg area. For 'The Three Lions', Jordan was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to his name. England had a dismal start with Jason Roy getting caught at the slip by Sharma off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The ball had a late out-swing movement, to which the 31-year-old tried to guide towards the third-man area but failed to get it past the fielder. In the third over, Pant completed a terrific catch to send Buttler (4) back to the pavilion, by standing up to the stumps to Bhuvi. Liam Livingstone (15) looked confident during his short stay before getting foxed by a brilliantly executed slower ball of Bumrah, which tailed back in and kissed the stumps. Soon, Harry Brook (8) was caught at Long-on off Yuzvendra Chahal in the seventh over. Then the subsequent over of the leg-spinner witnessed Dawid Malan playing a reverse sweep, which only managed to get holed out to Harshal Patel at Point. In the 15th over, Pandya went for 18 runs but took crucial wickets of Ali and Jordan. However, the rest of the batters could not hold their fort well, and England were dismissed for a score of 121, and lost by 49 runs. Willey remained unbeaten on 33 off 22. Bhuvi was adjudged as Player of the Match for his figures of 3/15 in three overs. After the culmination of this fixture, India leads the 3-match series by 2-nil and has secured a series victory. In the 2018 tour of England, India had emerged victorious with a 2-1 series victory in the shortest format. Interestingly, as a captain, Sharma now has the highest winning percentage (86.7) in T20I history. He is now just one short of equalling Ricky Ponting's record of most consecutive wins in Men's international matches. Both teams will meet at Trent Bridge on July 10 for the third and final fixture of the series. Brief Scores: India- 170/8 (20) Ravindra Jadeja 46 (29), Rohit Sharma 31 (20); Chris Jordan 4/27, Richard Gleeson 3/15, England- 121/10 (17) Moeen Ali 35 (21), David Willey 33 (22); Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3/15, Jasprit Bumrah 2/10 Result: India won by 49 runs

ENG vs IND | Debutant Richard Gleeson impresses, picks up the second-best figures on debut in T20Is for England

India posted a competitive total of 170-8 after being asked to bat first in the second T20I against England on Saturday. Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to bowl first on a pitch that seemed to have something for the faster bowlers. After losing the first T20I at Southampton by a thumping 50-run margin, England decided to bring in a few changes to their lineup, heading into the all-important second fixture at Birmingham. The hosts brought in all-rounder David Willey and handed out a debut cap to a 34-year-old pacer from Lancashire, Richard Gleeson, who bowled exceptionally well. Gleeson has been one of the names making the rounds in English domestic cricket for the last few years. Even though he started his career at Northamptonshire, it was his move to shift to Lancashire that initiated a change in his career graph. His performances for Lancashire were enough to earn him further franchise opportunities in the Abu Dhabi T10 League and for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League (BBL). Also, he earned call-ups to the England Lions squad for their tour to Australia in 2020 and England's enlarged training squad later in the year. In the last few years, he has represented various franchises, including Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Maratha Arabians, Team Abu Dhabi in the T10 league. India's innings got off to an electrifying start, courtesy of skipper Rohit Sharma who scored an aggressive 31 off 20 deliveries laced with three fours and two sixes before he miscued a pull shot off Gleeson's bowling. The debutant bowled a quick short ball that rushed the Indian skipper, who, otherwise is exceptional with the pull shot, couldn't control it then. One big fish was followed by another as Gleeson dismissed Virat Kohli, whose torrid run in international cricket continues. Kohli tried to throw the kitchen sink at a back of a length delivery around off which bounced a bit more. The Lancashireman did not stop there as he sent Rishabh Pant back to the dugout the very next delivery. Pant charged down the pitch and swung across a length ball but only managed to edge it to Jos Buttler, who completed a regulation catch. Not only did he pick up two wickets in that over, but he also managed to convert it into a double-wicket maiden. Gleeson ended up with impressive figures of 3-15 of his four overs. His figures were the second-best figures on debut by an English bowler in T20Is. Best bowling figures for Eng on T20I debut: 4/24 - Jon Lewis 3/15 - Richard Gleeson 3/16 - Darren Gough 3/22 - David Willey
