DC Suffer Massive Setback as Ace All-Rounder Returns Home Midway in IPL 2023

In a significant blow to Delhi Capitals, experienced all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned to home midway in the IPL 2023. As reported by Cricbuzz, Marsh has flown back to Australia for his wedding and will join the squad after a week.

Marsh, who was retained by the Capitals, recently enjoyed stellar success in international cricket, amassing 194 runs at an average of 97 and a blistering strike rate of 131.08 in the India series. However, unfortunately, he couldn't translate his ODI success in the IPL, managing two successive failures playing for the Capitals

After being dismissed for a golden duck against LSG, Marsh was cleaned up by Mohammed Shami in DC's subsequent fixture against Gujarat Titans for a run-a-ball 4.

Thus, his absence could be a blessing in disguise for Delhi Capitals, as they can now afford Rilee Rossouw at his usual batting position, i.e. number three, bringing West Indies T20I captain Rovman Powell down the order to play the finisher's role.

Speaking of Delhi Capitals, David Warner's men are yet to open their account in the IPL 2023 points table, incurring two successive defeats. Up next, they will take on Rajasthan Royals in their third group-stage encounter in Guwahati on Saturday.
