Criticism will always be there even when I play my last match: Imam-ul-Haq

Pakistan batter, Imam-ul-Haq has racked up seven successive half-centuries across the ODI series against England, Australia and West Indies. The left-hander is only the second batsman to have achieved this milestone after Javed Miandad, who scored nine successive half-centuries in 1987.

Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has been in red-hot form this year

Starting the year with centuries in both innings against Australia in the Rawalpindi Test, Imam has been the star performer for his side in both ODIs and Tests.

Prior to his 62 in the third ODI against West Indies, he notched up scores of 56, 103, 106, 89, 65 and 72 in the earlier matches.

Imam talks about the struggles

The left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq revealed his frustration regarding the limited opportunities he has had despite being in fine form.

“I knew I was in good form but was not getting opportunities. If you get opportunities to play continuously, you play better than if you are just sitting outside. I am very thankful I got the chances,”

“Criticism will always be there even when I play my last match. Since 2017 to 2022, I have been criticised for whatever I have done, good or bad. It does not matter,” Imam concluded.
