The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) have announced venues for the finals of the 2025 and 2026 editions of the tournament. The CPL organizers confirmed the same on October 5, i.e., around the time of the second qualifier of the CPL 2024 season between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals.
CPL assigns venues for 2025, 2026 finals
On October 5, the CPL organizers confirmed that the CPL 2025 final will be hosted by the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The officials also confirmed that the Kensington Oval in Barbados will host the final of the 2026 edition of the tournament.
Notably, Guyana’s Providence Stadium will also host the impending CPL 2024 final between the St Lucia Kings and the defending champions, the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Last month, the Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings qualified for the playoffs as the top two sides on the CPL 2024 points table. The Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals also secured a top-four finish, but they crashed out of the competition race with defeats in the knockouts.
The Eliminator match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals evoked much controversy and criticism owing to a floodlight failure at Providence Stadium. After a two-hour delay, the Barbados Royals were set a revised five-over target, which many considered favourable to the chasing team.
Despite the venue’s troubled track record off late, it has been assigned successive CPL finals as hosts in 2024 and 2025.
The CPL 2024 final between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings will be played on October 7, and the action will commence at 4:30 AM IST.
