St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will square off against Barbados Royals in the third match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 on Friday, September 2 at Warner Park.

After finishing up at rock bottom in the 2021 edition of the CPL, Barbados Royals have boat-loaded their squad with several quality players.

The South African batting star David Miller has been bestowed with the captaincy duties by the Royals. On the batting front, the likes of Quinton de Kock, Kyle Mayers, and Rahkeem Cornwall will hold the key.

Barbados's bowling line-up is headlined by the inclusion of the fiery West Indian left-arm pacer Obed McCoy and Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The latter of the two however will not be available for the first few games of Barbados.

As for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, coming off a game could be tiring for them but they will be looking to shake off the cobwebs to gather some momentum in the early half of the tournament.

Key Players

  • David Miller: The South African batter has looked in ominous touch in recent times and he will aim to put on the same show in the Caribbean Premier League. He has accumulated 8580 runs in 357 T20 innings so far.
  • Dewald Brevis: The young South African batting sensation has notched up 368 runs in 16 T20 matches he played so far. With the ball, he has also peeled off six wickets.

Pitch Report

The surface at Warner Park will offer help to the fast bowlers in the initial overs. However, as the game progresses, it will favor spinners. Chasing should be the go-to option for the toss-winning captain, with the average first-innings score being around 160 runs.
