  • County Championship Division 2 The Dream Partnership Between Pujara And Rizwan For Sussex

County Championship Division 2 | The 'dream partnership' between Pujara and Rizwan for Sussex

Cheteshwar Pujara has scored two double centuries and one century in three matches for Sussex. The out-of-favour Indian batter has been in red-hot form in the English County Championship. Pujara scored 203 in the first innings for Sussex. His inning has helped Sussex take the lead against Durham, who were all out on 223 in their first innings.

But what caught the eye of the cricket fans was the Indo-Pak partnership between Pujara and Rizwan. With a half-century, the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan gave Pujara great company.

The political tension between the two countries has disabled bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan since 2012-13. As a result, the two countries face each other in ICC tournaments only.

The visible harmony between Pujara (India) and Rizwan (Pakistan) on the field was a welcome change for cricket lovers. Seeing Pujara and Rizwan playing together rather than against each other was a sight to behold. Pictures of the two talking at the crease have gone viral on social media instantaneously.

"What a dream partnership," the official Twitter account of the County Championships wrote as they shared pictures of the duo batting together.

Pujara scored six and an unbeaten 201 to help his side draw the match against Derbyshire on his debut for Sussex. In Sussex's 34-run loss to Worcestershire, he scored 109 in the first innings, followed by 12 in the second innings.

The veteran batter who was dropped from the Test team following the series loss in South Africa earlier this year will hope that the runs will keep him in contention for a place in the Indian squad when India travels to England for the postponed fifth Test.
