Durham County Cricket Club (DCCC) on Tuesday announced that veteran fast bowler Chris Rushworth will be ruled out for the remainder of the ongoing County season due to a side strain. Rushworth, 36, is the club's leading First-Class wicket-taker with 603 wickets from 155 matches since 2010.

Rushworth injured himself during the club's County Championship Division two clash against Derbyshire last week. Durham is placed sixth in the Division Two table with one win, two losses, and eight draws.

Their final two games are against Sussex (h) and Nottinghamshire (a).

So far in 2022, the bowler has played 11 FC matches and picked up 34 wickets at 27.35. While playing in the Royal London Club, the Sunderland-born added 12 scalps to his tally this year.

The right-arm bowler has played 87 List-A and 85 T20 matches, claiming 218 scalps across both formats.

18-year-old paceman Stanley McAlindon is also ruled out for the season after being diagnosed with a bone stress injury on his lower leg. The lanky bowler made his FC and List-A debut for Durham this year.
