After inflicting a crushing defeat on the Australian side in the Perth Test, the Indian side have set their eyes on the Pink-Ball Test match, set to be played from December 6 at Adelaide. The last time India played a day-night match in Adelaide, they got bundled out for a paltry 36.
Hence, the Indian side will be gunning for revenge, but before that, they need to take care of the Prime Minister's XI side. In order to prepare for the Pink-Ball challenge, Team India will play a day-night game against PM XI at Canberra from Saturday.
The conditions in Canberra will mimic what India will get in Adelaide, and hence, the practice match provides a great chance for the visitors to get used to the day-night conditions. However, their preparations could be halted as the weather doesn't look promising at all.
Canberra weather today: Rain threatens India's preparations
Criterion | Data |
---|---|
Temperature | 19 degrees |
Rain predicted | Yes |
Wind | NE 22km/h |
As per Accuweather, there is morning rain predicted which could get heavy at times. There will be a cold breeze blowing throughout the day. It will be cloudy all day long and later in the day, there is also a chance for thunderstorm.
The average temperature will be 19 degrees celsius and if rain arrives, it could potentially be a spoilsport for Rohit Sharma's Team India.
India blessed with Rohit, Gill's return
India outplayed Australia in Perth in the absence of key players like Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. While Rohit's return in the playing XI is certain, there is still doubt on Gill's availability due to his injury.
However, the India's number 3 batter looked comfortable in nets on Friday and could potentially play the second Test in Adelaide, depending on how things go from here on.
