Indian cricket's own Mr. 360 and T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is turning another year older today, and it is the perfect time to pay him a fitting tribute. His trajectory as a late bloomer to becoming India's largest T20 star is filled with incredible milestones that make him one of the greatest short-format players ever. 

Suryakumar made his T20I debut in 2021 after a series of impressive stints in the IPL with the Mumbai Indians. Despite entering the international arena at the age of 30, Yadav’s passion and hunger were no less than those of a teenager.

He holds the record for the highest strike rate in T20Is (167.30, min 2000 runs), a stat that indicates how devastating he has been against the world's best bowlers.

In the matter of six-hitting, SKY stands alone. He was the quickest Indian to hit 100 T20I sixes and also the record holder of most sixes in a calendar year (68 in 2022). Adding to that, he remains the only Indian with over 1000 T20I runs in a single year.

His match-winning knocks have earned him the joint-most Player of the Match awards for India in T20Is (16). What’s more, Suryakumar Yadav has achieved this in 11 different countries, showcasing his adaptability across all conditions.

SKY Also Ruled IPL In His Own Style

The IPL has also been Suryakumar Yadav’s stage to shine. He has been the top run-getter for the Mumbai Indians in 2018, 2023, and 2025, and his 2023 season remains historic, scoring 600+ runs at a strike rate of 180+, a feat no other Indian has managed.
