Australian teen sensation Sam Konstas, who had a fiery moment with Virat Kohli during his debut Test, has now gone on record calling the Indian legend one of his biggest idols. “AB de Villiers with aggression... he hits 360 and takes the game on. Steve Smith – best player in the world in my opinion... big honour playing with him. Kohli – yeah, I feel his wrists are incredible, to be honest. The way he accesses the leg side... I’ve been growing up watching him play. Big idol,” Konstas said.

He also gave a cheeky nod to England’s Jos Buttler, thanking him for the batting tutorials.

“I’ve been watching quite a few videos... so thank you Buttler for those.”

But the Virat Kohli mention stood out. This isn’t just respect from afar. It’s admiration from someone who has faced the fire and still sees greatness through it.
