Ben Stokes puts other people in front of himself, it is time he puts himself first: Joe Root

England all-rounder Ben Stokes recently took an indefinite break from the game to address his mental well-being.

Captain Joe Root has backed the left-handed batsman’s decision and said that Stokes has always given priority to the team and this is the time where he should put himself first.

“Yeah, from my point of view, I just want my friend to be okay. I think anyone that knows Ben, he always puts other people in front of himself and I think now is an opportunity for him to put himself first,” Root said.

The Joe Root-led side have a packed schedule ahead of them as the team will first face India in a five-match Test series and then will take on Australia in an away Ashes series.

Talking about the game being played in bio-bubbles, Root suggested that there could be more players in the future who will be forced to take a break from the game for sometime.

“I think that’s why it’s important that we continue to keep talking, especially whilst we’re in safe living environments. There’s good honest conversations between the players and the ECB so that players can be looked after as best as possible.”

The first match between India and England will commence on Wednesday (August 4, 2021) in Nottingham and this will also mark the beginning of the second cycle of the World Test Championship.

BAN vs AUS | History beckons depleted Tigers, can they stand tall against the mighty Aussies?

It is not often that Australia comes to Bangladesh on tour to play bilateral series. Well, the last it happened was way back in 2017 and at that time only a two-match Test series was played in which Bangladesh registered a historic first-ever Test win against the Kangaroos. For a limited-overs series between the two sides, one has to go way back to 2011 when Australia toured Bangladesh and won the ODI series 3-0. In T20Is, well, this is the first-ever bilateral series between the two sides in a format that is now almost two decades old. However late it might have been, but Bangladesh wouldn’t be complaining as they are getting the ideal preparation for the T20 World Cup scheduled for October this year in UAE. Bangladesh's depleted squad While Bangladesh might not be complaining after getting to play against Australia, but the side has been depleted of its main resources as its experienced players in Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das will miss the series due to various reasons. Other than that, key players such as Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman and Soumya Sarkarare also carrying an injury or two and hence aren’t 100% fit before the start of the iconic series. The schedule of the series is cramped as five T20Is are to be played in eight days and hence quick recovery from any of these three players, if gotten injured, won’t be possible. Thus it might be a great opportunity for upcoming players like Shamim Chowdhary, Nur-ul Hasan and Afif Hossain, but the Bangladesh team is walking on thin ice as far as their main squad is concerned. Australia suffer from its own perils The Australian team isn’t that free from burdens either as a new skipper in Matthew Wade would be leading them in the absence of regular skipper Aaron Finch who is out due to injury. They don’t have their mainstays in form of Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis either and hence is not as strong as it generally has been Will Bangladesh be able to take advantage of that? Only time will tell. The ball would grip no doubt and chances of dew are minimal as well. Weather Forecast When the match begins at 06:00 pm local time, there are 25% chances of rain and humidity is in the 70s. The rain forecast increases to 40% by 07:00 pm and 47% by 08:00 pm. By 09:00 pm, there is even a forecast of thunderstorms and hence expecting a smooth match would not be ideal. In such conditions, the team winning the toss would look to bowl first. Team News Bangladesh The Bangladeshi side is hopeful of all three in Shakib, Soumya and Mustafiz making into the playing XI. Along with that Shamim and Afif, both are likely to play as well. WI vs PAK | 4th T20I: When & where to watch Live, Probable XI, Fantasy XI

The Pakistani team would look to seal the series with a 2-0 win in the fourth and final game of the 20 over format at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. This would somewhat relieve them of the pain that they had to go through with a 3-0 whitewash from a second-string English side in the ODI series and then the 2-1 loss in the following T20I series. After all, a series win against the World Champions doesn’t come easy. However, to achieve that, the West Indian might have to be challenged and although they are experimenting with their Playing XI to find the right balance ahead of their title defence in November this year, the Men in Maroon are still dangerous. They narrowly missed out in the second T20I, but won’t miss many chances. If weather permits, which it looks like doing as far as the forecasts are concerned, a crackerjack of a game awaits people. West Indies vs Pakistan: Match Details Match Number- 04th T20I Date and Time: August 03, 2021, 08:30 pm IST, 03:00 pm GMT, 11:00 am Local Venue: Providence Stadium, Guyana Live Streaming: Fancode Pitch Report The pitch in Guyana might have something on offer for the bowlers while the batsmen would face some trouble in putting up a big total. So, if you win the toss, elect to field first and restrict the opposition for a lesser total. Weather Forecast The rain gods seem to be pleased and might keep the rain away for this final game of the T20 leg of Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies. Two T20Is have already been washed out of the four. At the time of the start of the game at around 11:00 am the chances of rain dip down to 29% and keeps decreasing as the time progresses, meaning that a 20 over game would finally be completed.
