  • Being A Spinner You Cannot Do That Danish Kaneria Has A Word Of Warning For Ravi Bishnoi

"Being a spinner, you cannot do that," Danish Kaneria has a word of warning for Ravi Bishnoi

Tuesday was a mixed day on the field for young spinner Ravi Bishnoi as India faced Ireland in the last T20 International of the two-match series. After sitting on the bench in the first game, Bishnoi was included in the playing XI at The Village in Dublin in place of Yuzvendra Chahal.

In the second innings, Indian bowlers were tasked with defending a good score of 225 runs in 20 overs. Ravi Bishnoi helped India get off to a good start by picking up the wicket of opening batter Paul Stirling in his first over.

He caused all sorts of problems for Andrew Balbirnie as well. On the fourth ball of the eighth over, Balbirnie was beaten by a fine googly, and wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was quick to dismantle the stumps. However, the Ireland opener got a lifeline as Bishnoi stepped over the line.

The mistake cost India dearly as the opening batter went on to score 60 runs off 37 balls. Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi conceded 41 runs in his four overs while picking up one wicket.

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria was disappointed with the blunder from the Indian youngster. The veteran warned Bishnoi, saying he can't make such mistakes being a spinner. Kaneria also advised the 21-year-old to work on his delivery stride.

"India had won the first game and could play the same XI. However, they did the right thing by giving Ravi Bishnoi a chance. The team management wants to keep players like Bishnoi ready for the future. They know that he is a match-winner and we have seen that in the IPL.

"Ravi Bishnoi looks to bowl quicker through the air. What really surprised me was that he bowled a no-ball. Being a spinner, you cannot do that. He has a very big delivery stride and needs to shorten that," Danish Kaneria said on his Youtube Channel.

Meanwhile, Kaneria was all praises for Hardik's captaincy in the second T20 International against Ireland. The former Pakistan cricketer lauded Pandya for handing the ball to Umran Malik when India had to defend 16 runs off the last six balls.

Umran didn't have a good game as he leaked 31 runs in three overs. Despite the poor performance, Hardik showed faith in the speedster in the most crucial over of the match. Malik didn't disappoint his captain as he gave away 12 runs to help India score a victory by four runs.

"Hardik Pandya should be praised for giving the final over to Umran Malik. He could have bowled the crucial over himself as well. But he chose Malik as he wanted to give Malik some confidence. However, I feel that Pandya should have also given the new ball to Malik in this game," Danish added.
