BCCI President Sourav Ganguly announces Rs 5 crore bonus for team India

India registered a historic win at the Gabba in the fourth Test against Australia and with that clinched the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 and the president of the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) has announced today that the team will be incentivised Rs 5 crore for this remarkable win. Ganguly took to his Twitter account to announce the cash prizes for the team under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. He said that the series win will be remembered forever in the history of Indian cricket.

Rishabh Pant was adjudged man of the match for his nerveless innings of 89 runs and he was the last man standing among the batsmen and hit the winning runs that ended the three-decade-long domination of Australia at the Gabba.

There are only a few men in Indian cricket who know how hard it is to compete against Australia in their own backyard, let alone outplaying them over the course of a series and winning it than Sourav Ganguly who had led a very formidable side down under in 2003 but the Aussies proved to be too strong in their den.

BCCI considers pulling out of Asia Cup The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering to pull out of the Asia Cup as per a report in Times of India. “Further, the Asia Cup – even if it was scheduled – would’ve probably been played around the same time as the ICC Test Championship final. If India don’t make the final, the industry would’ve preferred the Asia Cup instead. Now, the chance of such a thing happening look bleak so it’s a kind of catch-22 right now,” TOI quoted an official aware of the development as saying. Let’s face it – the pandemic still hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s here and our lives continue to remain dispossessed by it.
