BCCI, CSA may cut short Test series between India, South Africa: Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket South Africa may well have to reschedule the upcoming tour scheduled to start on December 17 or cut short the three-match long Test series between the sides.

As per a TOI report, the boards will take a call on those issues in the next two days and Indian players have put forward their reservations over playing so many games on the tour which is supposed to be played under a strict biosecure bubble environment.

Reportedly, Indian players who are set to go on the tour of South Africa will have to enter the bubble in Mumbai starting December 8 but the selectors have delayed their meeting to decide the squad for the tour.

The emergence of new Covid-19 cases due to the new Omicron variant in South Africa has sent ripple effects across the world but the BCCI is not looking to call off the tour entirely and looking for viable alternatives.
