BBL 12: Will Sutherland extends his stay with Melbourne Renegades


Promising Australian all-rounder Will Sutherland has re-signed with Melbourne Renegades ahead of the upcoming BBL season, inking one-year deal with the franchise. 

In his reaction, Sutherland revealed that he has learnt a lot of things from this mates in the Renegades camp and would like to fine-tune his skills during his renewed stint. 

The 22-year-old was also determined to play a crucial role in the Renegades' resurgence in the mega event this year. 

"It was an easy decision to sign on for another year, I’m committed to the Renegades and want to be part of us turning things around on the field,” 

"I’ve learnt a lot the last couple of years and there are some great people here for me to keep learning from."

The Renegades' general manager, James Rosengarten, sounded ecstatic to have the young lad back in the team and expected him to take the franchise to new heights through his immense skillset. said the club was keen to have the young talent on board for another season.

“We’re pleased to have Will sign on with the club for another season. Will has all the attributes to be an influential player for us at this level – with bat, ball and his athleticism in the field – and is one of our young leaders.” 

Sutherland has been associated with the Renegades since four years, representing them in 29 games with distinction. 

He becomes the latest recruit of the Renegades, joining  Nic Maddinson, Zak Evans, Aaron Finch, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sam Harper, Mackenzie Harvey, Akeal Hosein, Liam Livingstone, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Tom Rogers, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Jon Wells.
