Australia to travel Sri Lanka for an all-format series in June

Australia is set to tour Sri Lanka for an all-format series in June, later this year. It will be Australia's first trip to the 'Island Nation' since 2016. The multi-format series will consist of two Tests, five ODIs, and three T20Is. Colombo, Kandy, and Galle are the three venues finalized for the games.

The tour will commence with T20Is in Colombo on June 7, with two other T20Is scheduled to be played on June 8 and 11. Kandy will host two ODIs next on June 14 and 16, followed by the remaining ODIs in Colombo on June 19, 21, and 24. Finally, Galle will host the remainder of the tour from June 29 to July 12.

"We played some very competitive T20 internationals against Sri Lanka at home earlier this year and we are excited to tour there for the first time since 2016 in what is sure to be another terrific Test and white-ball series," Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Nick Hockley commented in a statement published on their website.

"We are in for some exciting cricket, especially considering that an Australian tour to Sri Lanka is taking place after five [six] years," Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) CEO Ashley De Silva said.

During Australia's last tour to Sri Lanka, they clinched the ODI series by 4-1 and the T20I leg by 2-nil. However, they received a thrashing in the Test series with a 3-nil defeat.
