Shaheen rocked India's top-order in TCC T20 WC 2021 clash
The anticipation of the Asia Cup 2022 is at an all-time high, with a probability of India and Pakistan facing off against each other multiple times looking apparent. Both teams will clash in Dubai on August 28, with all eyes on the Indian batters, who will look to overcome the Shaheen Shah Afridi threat.
Afridi rattled India's top-order the last time the two sides met in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
In a video on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria spoke about how the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can negate Afridi, who with the new-ball is a different beast.
"No need to be afraid of Shaheen Afridi because Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are world-class batters. They just need to be aware that Shaheen will look to bowl fuller and get the ball to swing into them,"
So they should be prepared to not commit with their leg but negotiate it with the bat by playing closer to the body. Suryakumar Yadav's flick shots over square leg will also be important against Shaheen's bowling."
Top-order woes against left-arm bowlers
It is widely known that Kohli, Rohit, KL Rahul, and Co. have problems with incoming deliveries.
England's Reece Topley and West Indies' Obed McCoy caused havoc against the Indian batters recently, which led to Rohit denying any such glaring weaknesses against left-arm bowling.
Over the years, the likes of Trent Boult, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, and Mohammad Amir have troubled India in crucial encounters as well.
