Arshdeep Singh Set for County Debut against Surrey

India's left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is set to represent Kent in the ongoing County Championship season. The news of his participation in the next five matches, commencing with the forthcoming game against Surrey on Sunday, was confirmed by Kent on June 7.

The Punjab-based fast bowler caught the attention of Kent after his impressive performances in the national team and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, leading to his signing in March. This will be his first season in County Cricket.

In first-class cricket, he has secured 25 wickets in seven games at an average of 23.84.

Expressing his excitement, Arshdeep stated his eagerness to play red-ball cricket in England and continue honing his skills in the first-class game. He looks forward to showcasing his abilities in front of Kent's members and supporters, particularly acknowledging the club's rich history as mentioned by Rahul Dravid.

Kent's Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, expressed his delight in having a player of Arshdeep's potential join the team for the summer matches. Recognizing his world-class skills with the white ball, Downton is confident that Arshdeep will successfully adapt his abilities to the red-ball format in the County Championship.
