Big Bash legend Alex Ross has been appointed as captain of the Australia team for the upcoming Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2025 season. Australia has also unveiled their entire seven-player squad for the tournament.

As per the squad reveal, Ross will be leading a strong Australian unit comprising of several BBL as well as IPL superstars, with players like Andrew Tye and Ben McDermott even holding elite white-ball international experience.

Ex-KKR and Punjab Kings players selected in Australia squad

Australia has named international stars like Ben McDermott, Andrew Tye as well as Chris Green in their seven-player line-up for the upcoming Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2025 season in Hong Kong later this month.

BBL legend and 144-match veteran Alex Ross was appointed as Australia captain, where he will also be joined by fellow Big Bash stars like Jack Wood, Nick Hobson and others.

Players like Andrew Tye and ex-KKR cricketer Chris Green are among those with the most T20 experience at their disposal in Australia’s Hong Kong sixes squad. Andrew Tye has so far played 247 T20 matches, including 32 internationals, and has snared 342 wickets in his career. The speedster also won the coveted ‘Purple Cap’ for the Punjab Kings franchise back in IPL 2018.

Chris Green, as well as Ben McDermott, are some of the most prominent T20 globe-trotters, having played in leagues like CPL, Vitality T20 Blast, The Hundred apart from taking part in Australia’s very own BBL.

As per the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2025 schedule, Australia is placed alongside England and UAE in Group B. Both their Group B games will be played on November 7 at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.
