Pacer Adam Milne with mutual agreement from New Zealand Cricket has withdrawn himself from the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan and India. The decision was taken after Milne found himself under-prepared after having gone through a hamstring injury recently.

In his place, Blair Tickner has been called up, as he is currently in Pakistan being a part of BlackCaps' Test squad which is about to play in second red-ball game before the three-match ODI series.

Milne has been struck long by injury after he missed two games against India and Ford Trophy previously, but still managed to play a part in two of the Super Smash games. However, being a part of six one-day games played a part in the pacer's mind to withdraw from the series as he was apprehensive about his fitness.

What chief selector Gavin Larsen mentioned

"Adam was very up front with us about his concerns around the lack of one-day bowling loading for the upcoming tours. After chatting to him, we agreed his preparation leading into the tour wouldn't be sufficient for him to cope with the demands of back-to-back, three-game ODI series.

"We appreciate his honesty and his genuine desire not to let the team down. Blair's skills at bowling through the middle and his ability to hit the pitch hard make him a similar prospect to what Adam offered us. The fact he's already in Pakistan experiencing the conditions is an added bonus."

Kiwis will be playing in two back-to-back ODI series against Pakistan and India after the completion of the ongoing Test series against the former side.
