The fans are excited as the second edition of the World Championship of Legends is already underway, and they are getting to witness a sight of their favourite cricketers back from the golden days. Adding a touch of might to the tournament, India Legends also comprises massive players who were household names in India back in their days.

More interestingly, this time, India legends comprise World Cup-winning names in the squad. Hence, let's have a look at some of the top players who helped the Men in Blue lift the World Cup at least once in their career and are also playing for India Legends in WCL 2025.

1. Harbhajan Singh

To start the starry list, Harbhajan Singh comes to the forefront. The legendary off-spinner was part of the World Cup 2011 squad for India and was one of the top bowlers for the team, who helped India keep their opponents under control.

Throughout the tournament, Bhajju Pa scalped 9 wickets from his nine matches at an average of 43.33 and with best figures of 3/53, which further implies his hostility with the ball and economy control in his prime.

2. Yuvraj Singh

Arguably one of India's greatest match-winners, Yuvraj Singh's contribution to the country's 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup triumph remains legendary. He was named the Player of the Tournament for his all-round excellence, scoring 362 runs at an average of 90.50 with a strike rate of 86.19, including a century against the West Indies.

Yuvraj's left-arm spin was equally potent on Indian pitches; he took 15 wickets, often providing India with key breakthroughs in the middle overs. His 5-wicket haul against Ireland showcased his ability to change games with the ball.

3. Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina was a key member of India’s triumphant 2011 World Cup squad. Although not always in the starting XI, Raina’s contributions during the knockout phase were match-defining.

In the quarterfinal against Australia, his unbeaten 34 off 28 balls, alongside Yuvraj Singh, finished off a tense chase and his aggression turned the tide in India's favour. In the semifinal against Pakistan, Raina’s composed 36* ensured India reached a competitive total, expertly shepherding the tail.

4. Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan, known for his aggressive batting and utility off-spin, was part of the squad during the 2011 World Cup and played several key roles in the group stages. His most impactful performance came against Ireland, where his 30-ball 51 saw India chase down a tricky target, ensuring the team’s strong net run rate and confidence.

Notably, Yusuf played six matches during the tournament, scoring 74 runs at an average of 14.80 and a decent strike rate of 115.62. With the ball, Yusuf kept the economy tight at 4.77 and scalped one wicket in the six matches he bowled.

5. Piyush Chawla

Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla played an important supporting role in the 2011 World Cup campaign, adding variety and depth to India’s bowling attack. He featured notably in the matches against England and the Netherlands in the group stages. Against the Netherlands, Chawla took 2/47, helping restrict the opponents and demonstrating his ability to bowl in pressure situations.

While he didn’t play in the knockout stages as India opted for other bowling combinations, Chawla’s performances in key group matches allowed India to experiment and rest frontline bowlers. He scalped 4 wickets in his three matches and bowled at an economy rate of 6.21.
