India faced a suffered a humbling defeat against Australia in the second Test at the Adelaide Cricket ground. After a great win in at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the management would have hoped for a similar show in the second game.

This was India's fifth defeat in 2024 and this is the most for them in a calendar year in the last six years. This marks a new low in the recent history of Indian team in Test cricket.
