Australia and Bangladesh are all set to square off in game 43 of the 2023 World Cup in the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. This encounter is nothing short of a dead-rubber and is set to begin at 10:30 AM IST. This is also the final doubleheader day in the ongoing Championship event.

The Bangladesh side breathed a sigh after earning a victory and ending their six match losing streak in the World Cup. They won their first game against the Afghans but got their second win against Sri Lanka after being eliminated.

The Tigers will be competing to make it to the top seven of the points table. A win is a necessity for the Asian side to strengthen their chances of featuring in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Australia have played some fantastic cricket after initiating the tournament with two losses. They are currently on a six-match winning streak and have played like a champion. They have secured their spot for the semis and will be facing South Africa in the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The Aussies may make a few changes in the side and test their bench strength before the knockout game. Glenn Maxwell may miss out this game as he was suffering from cramps all over his body during his once in a life-time knock of 201* against Afghanistan. Steve Smith who suffered from vertigo and missed their latest clash may miss the forthcoming game too. They may make some more changes and include Sean Abbott, Cameron Green.

So let us check how their predicted XI may sound like.

Openers: David Warner and Travis Head

The Australian opening pair consists of David Warner and Travis Head. The Management could march with the same combination as it has fared really well barring the latest game against Afghanistan.

Warner has amassed 446 runs from eight innings and scored two tons against Pakistan and Netherlands. He has also notched up some amazing fifties that helped the Kangaroos get the perfect start. His opening partner, Head came into the World Cup scenario with a blazing ton against the Kiwis. He was injured earlier and could not participate in the first half of the tourney.

Middle Order: Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis and Alex Carey

Australia could rest Mitchell Marsh as a part of workload management. Based on the severity of Glenn Maxwell, Marsh could be a back-up sixth bowling option and hence this decision could be made from the think tank. So, Marnus Labuschagne could lead the middle order with two wicketkeeper-batters- Josh Inglis and Alex Carey. The latter featured against India and was a flop in Chennai.

All-rounders: Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis and Sean Abbott

Australia could move on with three seam bowling all-rounders. Sean Abbott is yet to feature in a game in the World Cup and has the ability to bat and bowl with potential. Although his primary role is bowling, Abbott scored a ton in the 2023 T20 Blast for Surrey and is not someone to be underestimated with the bat.

Marcus Stoinis has been an integral part of the XI and donned the role of a finisher. He could be well assisted by Cameron Green who has been utilised more of an injury cover for a mainstay.

Bowlers: Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood

Australia could rest their left-arm pace sensation, Mitchell Starc. He is prone to injuries and the management could protect their big-match specialist. Pat Cummins has been surreal in leading the Aussie XI and should continue to do so. Their primary spinner is Adam Zampa who has scalped 20 wickets from eight matches so far.
