The 2023 World Cup is operating in full swing with matches flowing regularly. The 17th match of the coveted tourney will see India square off against Bangladesh in the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The highly anticipated mega-event's seventeenth match is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM IST.

India has dominated the tournament thus far. They've participated in three games and triumphed in each. They trounced Australia to kick off their campaign, and then they conquered Afghanistan and their bitter rivals, Pakistan. The team's morale will be further buoyed by their recent victory in Ahmedabad. Right now, the Men in Blue are number one on the points tally.

Bangladesh beat Afghanistan to start the tournament, but they were unable to maintain that momentum in their subsequent games. In their next assignments, they were soundly defeated by New Zealand and England. Bangladesh is now seventh in the standings with only a couple of points from their three games.

The last time when both sides locked horns, the Tigers came out on the top during the final match of the Asian Championship. Let us have a quick look at Bangladesh predicted XI against India.

Openers: Litton Das, Tanzid Tamim

The Bangladesh top order shall see Litton Das and Tanzid Tamim as the starters in the batting line-up. The former was brilliant against England- played some elegant strokes against a quality bowling attack and scored 76 (66). On the other hand, Tamim is relatively inexperienced but has the potential to deliver. He was amongst runs during the World Cup Warm-up games and shall look to deliver in this high voltage clash.

Middle Order- Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mushfiqur Rahim

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim bat at different parts of the middle order along with the all-rounders- Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan.

Shanto is regarded as the next big thing in Bangladesh cricket and proved his mettle during the recently concluded Asia Cup and the latest bilateral matches of the Tigers. Mushfiqur on the other hand is more of a crisis man for Bangladesh. In their last match against New Zealand he handled a probable collapse with ease. Same was the case against Pakistan during the Asia Cup. Moreover, Rahim is coming off back-to-back half-centuries and is one of the most experienced of the lot.

All-rounders: Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah Riyad

Shakib is the living legend for Bangladesh cricket. He scored a gritty half-century against New Zealand in the last game and is their leading wicket-taker in the tournament with five scalps thus far. Mehidy has been promoted up the order since the time he knocked a ton during Asia Cup 2023. His ability to bowl full quota of right arm finger spin acts as a booster to the side's howling prowess.

Mahmudullah was brought back ahead of the World Cup and he showcased a brilliant forty-plus knock in their latest game. He can also bowl handy finger spin.

Bowlers: Taskin Ahmed, Tanzid Hasan Saikb, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman.

Bangladesh, predominantly a spinners heavy side, may opt for an additional pacer in their upcoming clash against India. Tanzim Hasan Sakib has got a slingy action and got the better of Rohit Sharma during the recent Asia Cup. He was superb in that match and strengthen their pace battery.

Barring Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman forms the core of their pace attack. It will be a fresh surface in MCA and therefore including an extra seamer won't do any wrong.
