With the IPL 2025 mega auction right around the corner, all eyes are on the players set to go under the hammer, and Delhi Capitals (DC) is in a unique spot. Having spent ₹ 43.75 crore on just four players, they've let go of a star figure and their captain Rishabh Pant.
With only one overseas player retained in Tristan Stubbs, Delhi Capitals need firepower in their lineup, especially from some fierce overseas players. Here are three overseas players, whom DC will target during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
3. Gerald Coetzee

Why Will DC Target Gerald Coetzee?
DC released their express pace machine Anrich Nortje, which has left a glaring gap at the top of their bowling attack. Enter Gerald Coetzee, the South African quick who brings raw pace and aggression to the table. Last season, playing for Mumbai Indians, he picked up 13 wickets in just 10 matches.
While his economy was on the higher side, he consistently took wickets, which DC desperately needs. Coetzee’s got IPL experience under his belt now, plus international experience, making him a stronger, more confident bowler. He’s quick, bouncy, and knows how to rattle top-order batters. If DC lands him, he could easily be their pace spearhead, filling Nortje’s shoes with ease.
2. Will Jacks

Why Will DC Target Will Jacks?
Will Jacks showed the world what he could do last season for RCB, scoring 230 runs in 8 matches with a scorching strike rate of 175.57, including a memorable hundred. He left everyone, including Virat Kohli, in awe of his six-hitting power. Jacks could slot into DC’s lineup at No. 3, bringing stability or explosive scoring, depending on the situation.
With Stubbs as their finisher, Jacks could handle the spinners in the middle overs, keeping the runs flowing smoothly and putting pressure on the opposition. This balance could be exactly what DC needs, which makes Jacks a perfect fit for their lineup.
1. Jake Fraser-McGurk

Why Will DC Target Jake Fraser-McGurk?
One of the most surprising releases by DC was Jake Fraser-McGurk. The young Aussie had a dream run last season, smashing 330 runs in just 9 matches with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 234.04 and scoring four half-centuries. Playing at the batting-friendly Arun Jaitley Stadium, he became a fan favourite, delivering fireworks every time he stepped onto the field.
Although they released him, DC has the RTM (Right to Match) card and could easily bring him back. Given his phenomenal impact, it’s likely DC won’t hesitate to use the RTM button if another team goes for him.
