India and England are all set to lock horns in the fifth T20I on Sunday, February 2 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With both teams filled with talented players, the IND vs ENG 5th T20I promises to be a cracking clash.

India

India started the series with a bang as they won the first two T20Is. But then, they hit a bit of a rough patch in the third match, losing to England by 26 runs. However, the Men in Blue bounced back in the IND vs ENG 4th T20I in Pune with a solid 15-run win that clinched the series.

Batting first, the Indian batsmen got off to an absymal start with Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav not firing as expected. However, Abhishek Sharma (29) and Rinku Singh (30) chipped in with useful knocks. The real fireworks came from Shivam Dube (53 off 34) and Hardik Pandya (53 off 30), who steered the chase to a healthy 181/9.

With the ball, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy put in a scintillating display to bowl England out for 166. India will now look to wrap up the series 4-1 and keep the winning momentum going.

England

On the other hand, England have been mediocre in the series so far. They started strong by bowling first in the last match and reduced India to 12/3, thanks to Saqib Mahmood who picked up three early wickets. But their bowlers lost steam, allowing the Indian batsmen to stitch some neat partnerships.

When England batted, RCB's newest recruit, Phil Salt once again couldn’t quite find his rhythm, scoring a mere 23 off 21 balls. Ben Duckett chipped in with a quickfire 39 off 19, but captain Jos Buttler had a rare off-day, getting out for just 2.

Harry Brook showed some fight with 51 off 26 but Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell couldn’t fire in time as the visitors fell short by 15 runs. Now, England will look to salvage their pride and secure a win in the last match of the IND vs ENG T20I series.

How Will The Wankhede Pitch Behave?

The Wankhede pitch report states that it is going be a batting track. The surface here has a knack for rewarding big hits and sees plenty of runs on the board. However, the Wankhede pitch also offers good bounce, which the bowlers can use to their advantage.

With short boundaries at the Wankhede Stadium, the batsmen will be itching to hit big but the bowlers will be ready to make the most of that extra bounce to keep the big hitters in check.

The average score batting first at the Wankhede Stadium in eight T20Is is 191. With three wins for the team batting first and five wins for the chasers, expect the captain who wins the toss in the IND vs ENG 5th T20I to field first and try to put the brakes on the scoring.
