South Africa have been one of the most consistent teams in One Day Cricket. Even though they perform well throughout the year, they have been tagged as chokers for their performances on the big stages and important matches of the tournament.

Even during the Champions Trophy 2025, South Africa looked a well-balanced side. They performed well in the group stages but then failed to maintain consistency in the semi-final against New Zealand and lost the match, getting eliminated from the tournament.

Temba Bavuma - 7/10

The South African skipper played a couple of decent knocks in the tournament. Temba Bavuma scored a couple of half-centuries but could not leave a game-changing impact.

Ryan Rickelton - 6.5/10

Matches: 3 Runs: 147 Average: 49.00

The young South African wicketkeeper batter started the tournament on a great note. Ryan Rickelton scored a century in the first match and set the tournament ablaze. However, he failed to deliver after that.

Rassie van der Dussen - 8/10

Matches: 3 Runs: 193 Average: 96.50

The South African top-order batter was in brilliant form during the tournament. Rassie van der Dussen scored three half-centuries in four innings and was the highest run-scorer for his team.

Aiden Markram - 5/10

Matches: 3 Runs: 83 Average: 83.00

With his international experience, Aiden Markram was expected to be one of the backbones of the South African batting lineup. However, he failed to leave the impact that was expected of him.

Heinirch Klaasen - 4/10

The wicketkeeper batter is one of the biggest hitters and a game-changer for South Africa in the middle-order. Heinrich Klaasen delivered in the first game that he played in the tournament but failed to deliver when the team needed him the most.

David Miller - 6/10

Matches: 3 Runs: 121 Average: 121.00

The South African lower middle-order batter was not at his best during the preliminary stages of the tournament. But in the semi-final, David Miller played a lone hand and tried to take his team close. However, all went in vain as he ran out of partners. 

Wiaan Mulder - 5/10

Matches: 3 Wickets: 6 Average: 18.16

The South African all-rounder failed to deliver with the bat but was one of their best bets with the ball. Wiaan Mulder's wicket-taking form played a crucial role in South Africa going to the semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Marco Jansen - 3/10

Matches: 3 Wickets: 4 Average: 37.50

Given his ability with the new ball, Marco Jansen was expected to be one of the most vital cogs for South Africa. However, Jansen failed to make a valuable contribution with either the bat or the ball.

The South African speedster was in decent form with the ball during the tournament. However, Kagiso Rabada being the leader of the bowling attack, was expected to play a bigger role in leading them to the title. 

Lungi Ngidi - 4/10

Matches: 3 Wickets: 6 Average: 26.83

The South African pacer picked up wickets during the tournament. But Lungi Ngidi failed to contain the runs, which led to the team underperforming in the key stages.

Kehsav Maharaj - 2/10

Matches: 3 Wickets: 3 Average: 48.66

The South African spinner was not upto the mark during the whole tournament. Keshav Maharaj failed to provide the team with the crucial breakthroughs during the middle overs. 

Tristan Stubbs - 0/10

Matches: 1 Runs: 0 Average: 0

The young South African batter played only one match in the tournament. Tristan Stubbs failed to get off the mark in the game that he played.

Tony de Zorzi - 1/10

Matches: 1 Runs: 11 Average: 11.00

The South African started the tournament as an opener. In the only match Tony de Zorzi played, he failed to leave much impact.
