Legendary cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar squarely blames Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya for the loss against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede stadium yesterday.

Gavaskar criticized Hardik, stating that his performance was subpar in all aspects of the game, ultimately giving CSK the upper hand throughout the game.

Gavaskar blasts Hardik's performance Vs CSK

Hardik Pandya is currently facing a lot of challenges both on and off the field. Being criticized for his performances and making costly mistakes can certainly take a toll on his happiness and confidence.

In the match against CSK, his bowling was particularly targeted by MS Dhoni, resulting in an additional 20 runs for CSK, which proved crucial in the outcome of the game. Unfortunately, he couldn't contribute much with the bat either.

Mumbai-based former World Cup winner and cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar criticized Hardik Pandya for the loss.

"Oh, absolutely ordinary bowling, ordinary captaincy. They should have been restricted despite the fact that Ruturaj Gaikwad had batted so well along with Shivam Dube. I do believe that they should have been restricted to 185-190," Gavaskar said.

Gavaskar strongly admonished Hardik, who is known to be a big fan of Dhoni, for bowling length deliveries and full tosses to his idol in the last over. According to Gavaskar, it was the worst bowling he had seen in a long time.

"Probably the worst kind of bowling that I've seen for a long, long time. It almost looks like I've had this embrace with my hero. I've got to be bowling kind of deliveries that he's gonna hit for sixes," Gavaskar added.

In the current scenario, Hardik Pandya's selection for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup will likely come under scrutiny. He hasn't been able to win over the hearts of MI fans and is consistently being blamed for the team's losses. These are undoubtedly tough times for Hardik.
