In an exciting blend of cricket and politics, former Indian cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) icon Yusuf Pathan is making waves in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Running from Baharampur, West Bengal, under the Trinamool Congress (TMC) flag, Yusuf's campaign is gaining momentum with promises of appearances by cricket superstars.

With the IPL 2024 season unfolding, this move has caught the attention of cricket fans and voters alike.

Yusuf Pathan, who faces a tough competition against the incumbent, five-time MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of the Congress, has planned a unique campaign strategy.

Yusuf aims to leverage his cricketing connections, promising the electorate meet-and-greet opportunities with cricket stars. 

"Irfan is currently busy with the IPL. He will come if he gets a chance. Besides, the cricketers who are free during that time will also join the campaign," Pathan was quoted by Anandabazar Patrika.

The decision to field Yusuf from Baharampur, a constituency that TMC has historically struggled to win, was seen as a bold move by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A victory here would not only be a personal achievement for Pathan but also a significant win for the TMC.

Further adding to the excitement, Yusuf expressed, "Since I am here, all the cricket superstars whom I know…those people here are eager to see, will come. I will arrange for the general voters to see them and talk to them." 

This pledge has undoubtedly added a layer of enthusiasm among the electorate, keen on meeting their cricket heroes while supporting Yusuf's electoral journey.

Adding to the excitement, former teammate and Bengal's Sports Minister Manoj Tiwary also extended heartfelt congratulations to Yusuf, signaling wide support from the cricketing community.

While the full list of cricketers joining Yusuf's campaign remains under wraps, anticipation is building among fans eager to see their favourite stars supporting the cricketer-turned-politician.
