On the opening day of the fifth and final Test match of the series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav bamboozled England batters, clinching two vital wickets in his first five overs, including the prized scalp of England's Ollie Pope for just 11 runs.

The Ollie Pope wicket came just before lunch in the 26th over, when Kuldeep bowled a mesmerizing googly that completely outfoxed the Englishman.

Anticipating a leg break, Pope advanced down the pitch, only to be met by a ball that pitched shorter than he expected.

IND vs ENG: Kuldeep's googly left Pope baffled and got him stumped

This googly turned sharply, breezing past Pope's outside edge, leaving him stranded. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel seized the moment and executed a sharp stumping that sent Ollie Pope back to the pavilion for 11 off 24 balls.

Meanwhile, the day began with England opting to bat after winning the toss, a decision that initially seemed fruitful as openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett laid a solid groundwork with a 64-run stand. The pitch with something in it for the bowlers, soon turned traitor under Kuldeep Yadav's spell.

Kuldeep, introduced into the attack by captain Rohit Sharma, struck gold right off the bat, disrupting the promising innings of Duckett and later dismissing Pope to leave England at 100/2 at Lunch on Day 1.

With Crawley anchoring the innings, batting on 61 and Joe Root waiting in the wings to join the fray post-lunch, England's strategy will pivot towards stitching a robust partnership to counter India's bowling onslaught.

The visitors will have to dig deep and weave a counter-narrative to India's dominant start, with hopes of rebuilding their innings on a pitch that has already begun to reveal its many moods.
