Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been part of the IPL since the beginning, but they’re still chasing their first-ever trophy. Over the years, they’ve come close, but luck hasn’t really been on their side.

Recently, former RCB captain and team star Virat Kohli had a fun and light-hearted chat with Mr. Nags on the popular RCB Insider Show. The two talked about many things; from RCB’s long wait for the IPL title to even doing a funny guided meditation session.

Virat Kohli Teams RCB Fans Over No 18 Theory

During the chat, Kohli joked about how fans are suddenly feeling positive about winning the trophy this year. Mr. Nags said that many fans truly believe 2025 could finally be RCB’s year to lift the title. In reply, Kohli laughed and said, 

“It took you 18 years to feel that? What about years 17, 16, or 19? But yeah, it’s good to feel positive.”


This year marks the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, and RCB is still waiting to win their first IPL trophy. But with a decent start in the 2025 season, fans are once again hopeful.

So far, RCB have played 6 matches; winning 4 and losing 2 (against Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals). They’re currently sitting at 3rd place on the points table. Their next match is against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday, April 18.
