The Indian cricket side is currently on a rampage in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. With a winning record of 100% in eight league matches, the host nation secured a semi-final berth while leading the point table simultaneously.

Having said that, the biggest strength of the Indian side in their World Cup has been, surprisingly, its bowling attack. For the first time in many years, the Indians are dominating with the new bowl, which is a rare and welcoming sight for the home fans.

In eight league games played so far, India picked 75 wickets in total, which is only second to South Africa in the tournament, with one game to spare. Moreover, they bowled out the opposition in their last three games against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and England.

Needless to say, the Indian bowling attack comprising pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, and spin wizards Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja has garnered praise from all around the globe. The latest to join the masses is former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri, who interestingly credited Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for bringing out the best side of the bowlers.

In an exclusive chat with Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan on the Club Prairie Fire show, Ravi Shastri reckoned that the current Indian bowling unit is the best he has seen in the past 50 years of cricketing history, and the core of the dominance is the variety and ability to adapt in any given condition.

The former head coach also credited Rohit Sharma heavily for infusing discipline into his bowlers. He says that the Indian captain entertains no nonsense. If he catches the wind of the bowlers getting carried away by the momentum, Sharma ensures to step in straightaway.

Ravi Shastri further hailed Rohit for his unusual bowling changes, which have, in fact, worked in the favour of his side. The former coach was in complete awe of Sharma's calmness and extensive number of gameplans.

“There is always a mix of spin and pace for a short spell so that the batter doesn't settle down or plan or target a certain bowler. He has been extremely proactive. He is not someone who is instinctive or excitable but he is someone who has a Plan A, B and C in his pockets and is calm throughout his approach,” Shastri said.
