On Sunday, India will cross swords against Pakistan in a riveting clash in the ongoing Asia Cup competition. Ahead of the high-octane face-off, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has clarified that the Men in Blue are unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI.

Ten Doeschate Gives Sneak Peeks Into IND XI vs Pakistan

India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate attended the pre-match press conference ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup encounter against Pakistan. The former Dutch all-rounder dismissed the possibilities of India making any notable changes to their playing XI for the high-voltage contest.

It's worth mentioning that India, in an interesting move, opted for three multi-dimensional players- Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube, while bringing two specialist spinners - Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav- for their Asia Cup 2025 opener against the UAE.

Therefore, ace speedster Arshdeep Singh missed out on selection, with India preferring batting depth over specialist seamer for the game. Despite fans questioning the exclusion of Arshdeep, statistically India's most successful T20I bowler, Ten Doeschate has hinted at an unchanged XI for the Pakistan clash, meaning Arshdeep will continue to warm the bench.

"We are unlikely to make any changes," Ryan ten Doeschate was quoted as saying by PTI

This means India will likely stick to their tried and tested method of five specialist batters, including Sanju Samson as the wicketkeeper, three all-rounders and three bowlers - Bumrah, Chakravarthy and Kuldeep.

Meanwhile, the eyes will be on Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, who are expected to play pivotal roles for the Indian side.
