Former Indian legend and World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar is worried about Rohit Sharma's form.

The Indian skipper struggled against Pakistan in the World Cup opener on Sunday and he will need to get back into his groove in order for his country to do well in the marquee event.

The Indian top-order collapsed against their arch-rivals and they cannot afford to keep throwing their wickets away in the big games. On another day, the Men in Blue could have easily lost the game.

Rohit Sharma is one of the best batters in the world and his return to form would be a massive boost for Team India. He can set the platform for the incoming batters by giving the team a good start.

Furthermore, the Indian skipper is capable of playing explosive knocks at the top of the order which can prove to be defining during the crucial stages of the tournament.

India could have really used his power-hitting ability and experience against Pakistan last time out.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, Sunil Gavaskar said:

"The only concern really has been that Rohit Sharma of late has not quite scored with the same capability we know him to. I think if he gets going it really makes people’s life really easy for people to follow."
