Indian batter, Virat Kohli is renowned for his remarkable cricketing skills and incredible passion on the field. But behind this illustrious persona lies a tale of familial bonds and childhood lessons that shaped the man he is today.

Virat Kohli shares interesting anecdotes from his childhood

In a candid revelation, Kohli had once shared an amusing yet enlightening episode from his younger days, showcasing the strong bond he shares with his family, especially his elder sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra.

Kohli, who became exceptionally close to his family following the unfortunate passing of his father, often reminisces about his childhood antics and the crucial role his mother and sister played in his upbringing. He attributes much of his personal development to the caring support of his mother, who has been a constant source of strength and guidance in his life.

However, it's his relationship with his sister that brings a touch of humour and life lessons to his childhood stories. Kohli, reflecting on his younger self, admitted to being a rather mischievous child, often engaging in notorious activities. One such incident involved a playful yet disrespectful habit of addressing his elder sister informally as 'tu'.

This habit, though seemingly trivial, did not sit well with his sister. Kohli recounted how one day, his casual address irked his sister to the point where she lost her temper. In a moment of frustration, she reprimanded him, a reaction that left a lasting impact on the young Kohli.

“Meri behen ne mujhe bahut maara. Main na tu karke baat karta tha. Mereko adat thi. Ek din pata nahin kya hogaya. Gussa chadgaya, Bhaisahab aisa mara mujhe, muh se ‘ta’ nikalna hi band hogaya,” said Kohli.

Further narrating his childhood stories, Kohli shared another humorous incident. Entrusted with money to buy household items, a young Virat instead found himself mimicking a scene often witnessed in weddings where money is splashed on people dancing. As a result, he completely forgot the errand at hand.

“Ghar pe koi aya tha, unhone Rs 50 diye, kuch saman lane. Maine Shaadi main bahut dekha tha log note udake naachte huye. Mereko pata nahin kya keeda chada, kya excitement hogayi, toh maine us Rs 50 ko tukde tukde karidia aur bahut naacha. Maine saman hi nahin liya,” quipped the former Indian skipper.
