Royal Challengers Bangalore snapped up West Indies speedster Alzarri Joseph for a hefty Rs. 11.50 crore following a competitive bidding war involving Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants. This significant move comes after Joseph's release from Gujarat Titans, where he played a crucial role in their 2022 IPL victory.

Reflecting on Joseph's illustrious IPL journey, his debut for Mumbai Indians in 2019 stands out as a defining moment. Stepping in as an injury substitute, Joseph delivered a blistering spell that remains etched in IPL history.

Against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he recorded a staggering 6/12, the best-ever bowling figures in the league, steering Mumbai Indians to a stunning 40-run victory.

The match, remembered for its sheer intensity, saw Joseph dismantle Sunrisers Hyderabad's batting lineup.

His dismissal of the formidable David Warner set the tone for what was to follow. Joseph continued his rampage, claiming the wickets of Vijay Shankar and Deepak Hooda and effectively sealing the fate of the Sunrisers with each precise delivery.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who had earlier restricted Mumbai to 136/7, crumbled under Joseph's relentless assault. Despite commendable efforts by Mohammad Nabi and other Sunrisers bowlers, they were unable to counter the momentum set by Joseph and Kieron Pollard's explosive 26-ball 46.

This historic spell not only showcased Joseph's exceptional talent but also marked a significant turnaround for Mumbai Indians in that season. From staring at a potential defeat, Joseph's entry transformed the game, resulting in Sunrisers Hyderabad recording their lowest-ever score of 96.

As Joseph gears up for his stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024, the cricket world will eagerly anticipate more such performances from the remarkable West Indies paceman.
